Named User Licensing​

Autodesk licensing utilizes VMI's Single Sign On by signing in with your VMI Network Account credentials (Same credentials used to sign into Canvas and the Computer Labs)

Computer Lab Use​

Logging into Autodesk Software​

  • Open any Autodesk software on a lab computer (Autocad, Civil 3D, Revit)

  • A popup will come up and auto open a browser window to Autodesk Sign in page

  • Enter your VMI email address in the textbox and click Next 01

  • This will tak eyou to the VMI Single Sign On page. Input your VMI network account email and password (Same credentials you use to log into Canvas/Computer Labs) and click Sign in 01

  • Once you are signed in click Open product 01

  • Another popup will come up named Open Autodesk Identity Manager

    • Select Always allow signin.autodesk.com to open links of this type in the associated app
    • Click Open Autodesk Identity Manager01

  • This will take you back to the Autodesk product and you will see in the upper right hand corner your netowrk account name. This signifies the sign in is successful. 01

Personal Use Autocad​

  1. Download installer here)
  2. Extract the contents of acad.zip to any folder
  3. Right click and select Run as administrator Install Autocad 2027 [2026-2027 Academic Year - Named User License].bat
  4. A CMD window will open up and the silent installer will begin. Please do not do anything until you see the CMD window close.
  5. Autocad in now installed and can be logged into with your Autodesk Account.
